“……I was hoping we could be friends.” Phil said hesitantly, maybe a friendship was still possible.
“Look at you, you’re bite size! The weakest puniest boy I’ve ever met! Why would I, or anyone for that matter, ever want to be your friend?” Melissa let out a deep belly laugh, Phil just sighed, she was right.
The girls made it to the lunch room and went through the line. Samantha had brought her own lunch so she went to grab them some seats. Melissa set Phil on her tray, “You’re having what I’m having.” Phil nodded sadly.
When they finally got up to the front of the line Phil saw they were having grilled cheese sandwiches. Normally that would have cheered him up but today just hadn’t been his day. Julia and Melissa got their food and took their seats next to Samantha and a few other girls from their karate class.
“Here.” Melissa brushed her finger against the crust causing several crumbs to flake off, “Eat up.”
“……….. That’s all I get?” Phil asked quietly.
Melissa looked offended, “Well yeah! I’m really hungry! Besides it’s not like you earned those crumbs anyway. If you want to lose them keep talking.”
Phil shut up. The girls scarfed down their grilled cheese sandwiches and started on their desert. Melissa got up to head to the bathroom. Phil, not knowing when to keep quite, decided to ask for some desert as well, “Ummm, do you think I could have some of that?” Phil indicated Melissa’s cup of chocolate pudding.
“Sure.” Julia smiled, flicking Phil he flew into the air and landed in the sticky substance. The gooey chocolate delight pulled him in like quick sand. It was too thick for him to break free! Slowly his arms were pulled downward.
“Eat quickly, if Melissa catches you in there I doubt she’ll let you out.” Samantha giggled.
“Yeah, you came here for lunch not to be lunch.” Julia added.
Phil struggled like crazy but it was no use. Soon Melissa was back, “Hey, where’s that shrimpy little dork?”
“In your pudding!” Samantha giggled.
Melissa peered at her pudding and spotted him, “He IS in there! Why are you in my desert?”
“Maybe he hates being beat up by girls. He probably wishes he was stronger. Maybe he wants you to eat him so he’ll become part of a better fighter.” Julia thought out loud.
“Is that it Phil?” Melissa asked.
“What?! No! I was just hungry.”
“Well I’m hungry too! Don’t expect me to eat around you.” Melissa raised her plastic spoon.”
“W- what do you mean?”
“You shouldn’t be in there to begin with. You should get out now or be prepared to suffer the consequences of your actions.” Melissa’s belly growled.
