"The first thing anyone is going to try against you is a stomp" Melissa started. "If you get hit by one of those, it'll be tough for you to recover. So you need to learn to dodge those feet!"
Phil nods that he understands.
"Now I'm not going to go easy on you. And if you get hit by one, they're going to keep coming, so recovery will be key too."
"Ready?" Phil nodded" "Now bow" Phil bowed and nervously approached the center of the mat.
He was ready for Melissa's right foot this time, and dove out of the way. She missed! She pulled her foot back, and brought her left foot forward. He was ready for that one too, and jumped back with plenty of time to avoid it.
"Ok Phil....I know you can avoid the stomps when you have time between them. Let's see what happens when they come quicker."
Melissa brought her left foot forward, and Phil dodged it again! He was starting to feel pretty proud of himself as he jumped to his left. Melissa's foot didn't stay down long though, as it was back up in the air in a flash. She just had to move it over slightly and she had it hovering back over Phil. He was able to scramble out of the way, but just barely.
He was watching her left foot as she drew it back, and got caught under the shadow of her right foot. It came down quickly over his defenseless body and before he knew it he was stomped to the mat. True to her word, Melissa didn't give Phil any time to recover as she lifted her right foot straight above him and brought it straight back down, stomping him again. Soon, Melissa's right foot was Phil's world, STOMP....STOMP....STOMP was all he knew. He wondered if Melissa was getting a little kick out of this or not, and if there might be a grin on her face as she continued with the first session of his training.
Soon enough though, the stomping ended and her foot came to rest on top of his flattened body. Melissa was still not going easy on Phil, as he could tell plenty of her weight was on that right foot that was still pressing him into the mat.
