The Head Elder stood up,walking ahead of the crowd towards Goddess Lara,I tired not to smile too much at being right."Oh great and powerful Goddess,we are humble that you would lower yourself to hold the entire village upon your finger!!"He shouted up,wavings his hands in a grand gesture.

"It is no problem,in fact I wanted to study you all up closer."Lara replied,guessing the speck who stepped forward was a leader of some sort.

"To honor you,Goddess Lara,we shall make a sacrifice!!"He held his hands up,rallying my people.We all cheered from our bowed position."This shall be no meager animal sacrifice...a Goddess as great as yourself deserves more worthy blood!!"He was forcing us into a fenzy.I smiled all the bigger."We shall sacrifice one of our own to you.And this person shall be.......Ne!!"
Everyone cheered even louder,except me.I stood up,somewhat shivering."But...w-why sacrifice me?"I asked."You are the one who Goddess Lara first spoke to,yes?So your blood must be given to her as a gift!!"The Head Elder turned to me,and motioning for the largest of our warriors to hold me down.Their rough hands grabbed my wrists and ankles pinning me down to the ground,all the while the rest were still cheering.

"Wait!!You don't have to do this for me...."Lara said,watching as the specks were about to sacrifice to her,her little friend Ne."Nonsense my Goddess!Our customs dictate this!"The Elder yelled up to her in reply.

The Head Elder approached me,pulling a bone knife from the inside of his robe.I tried to free myself,but my fellow warriors...were too strong.The Head Elder raised the knife over his head,and I knew where it was going to go.Straight into my chest,to carve out my heart,and my blood gathered in vials.For some reason I began to cry."At least this is...is for Goddess Lara...."I said to myself.

"NO!!"Lara said fiercely,using her free hand to pluck the speck that was the Elder from out of the village.She held him high,trying to look intimidating to him.This was an easy feat considering she was hundreds,if not thousands of times his size."You listen here,do not sacrifice my friend Ne.Now,as your.....Goddess,I command you to release him."

Instantly the warriors let me go,bowing once again before Goddess Lara.Tears still sprang from my eyes.I couldn't believe what was happening...a God,a being infinitely greater than me,had interfered to save my life.I am eternally grateful.The Great Goddess Lara placed the Elder back into the village,and he seemed to collaspe from fear.I could hear him mutter to himself "I am sorry Goddess...I am sorry Goddess...."
