Struggles for Survival VG Shrink chapter 7 by copier · original author: tinylelouch

Ever vocal about what to do Amy said aloud her intentions; “That does it! I’m gonna find that man and give him a piece of this girl’s mind!” Sounded like a mad lover normally; but to Shadow she might as well have signed his death waver. In the simplest of motions Amy rose off her couch and stood up; and yet it literally rocked Shadow’s world. The various contractions of every muscle in Amy’s body allowed her to move, and while usually unimportant; to Shadow it just made hell a little bit worse. The muscle holding Amy’s foot still reacted to the body rising, or in simpler terms, her foot moved to accommodate her body. If Shadow had something to hold on to the motion would have had no effect, but Amy’s toe nail was as smooth as can be; without anything to help him out Shadow was soon knocked into the smelly air once more.

He only flew an inch or so, but it felt like damn near a mile before Shadow smacked against the top of Amy’s boot. The disgruntled feeling of slamming against worn, sweaty leather was not something Shadow wanted to repeat; but he’d have to get used to it if Amy followed through what she meant. Another motion on Amy’s part caused Shadow to fall, and to his dismay it wasn’t the toe nail he landed back on. It was the insole of the boot, specifically between Amy’s toes. The absorbed sweat reduced the impact but it didn’t stop the breath from getting knocked out of him.

Another movement by Amy; maybe her foot going back down, whatever it was it seemed to tilt Shadow’s world to the side. To the hedgehog’s dismay he could feel his body sliding towards the rest of Amy’s toes, not if he had anything to say about it. Stubbornly Shadow clawed at the insole, gripping some loose leather and holding on for dear life. But it wasn’t helping, Shadow’s gloves and the sweat the insole held were not working well together, his grip was slipping. “Dammit all to hell!” Shadow cursed, swallowing his pride and biting Amy’s insole. If his hands wouldn’t be enough then he’d use his mouth! No matter what foul fluids slid down his throat, no matter how humiliating it was. And boy was it humiliating; Shadow was struggling for his life in the boot of a girl not even half his age, and she wasn’t even out of her home yet!

Shadow’s struggles soon proved futile, his will was certainly strong enough; but against Amy and her boot it simply wasn’t working. He was getting defeated by a boot of all things! His hands began to fail him, and soon lost their grip; he was now literally hanging by his teeth. It was not looking well for that either, Shadow did not count on foot sweat soaked leather to taste so…so bad. He had forced down some disgusting gunk before but Shadow had never experienced something like this! Even with all his will his teeth were starting to loosen their grip.

Not that it mattered; Shadow’s struggles were doomed from the beginning. Amy rose her foot again, and in the moment her foot readjusted itself. Maybe a centimeter to her, totally unimportant, but to Shadow…it was enough for her big toe to loom over him. In that one instant, in the darkness Shadow looked up at the pink toe of the hedgehog, and he lost his teeth’s grip in a rare moment of fear. He could see his fate beneath that foot. Literally dying like a bug, a red splatter against pink fur.

The next second came and Shadow had already wished his struggles moments before never ended, Amy’s toe held the weight of several cities, all of it focused on one, miniscule, black speck. Hundreds of miles away the loud sound of metallic clinking caught Shadow’s attention, seemed like keys. Shadow never saw Amy drive but he prayed that’s what the keys were for. A couple foot steps later Shadow felt his bones beginning to crack from the pressure, as well as his eyes beginning to sting from the sweat seeping into them. Would this really be his end? Beneath the toe of Amy Rose? Doomed never to even be found? It was depressing, and more importantly, beyond degrading. He could feel his pride dwindling, at this rate he started wishing he chose to live his life like a bug. Compared to this fate it seemed...pleasant.

All the while Shadow had his plight, Amy was humming a soft tune to herself, a tune that seemed to mock the speck at her toes. With her keys Amy opened her door, and sealed it on the other side. Turning to the bright world around her Amy let out a content sigh, "Ahh...what a nice day!...Little hot though. Ah well, I'll get used to it." That slight heat, unknown to Amy, was making her feet start to make fresh sweat...and Shadow did not like how it felt. Amy looked around her, a slight breeze, people going about their daily lives, it was nice to see. But she had to focus! There was a certain blue hedgehog who was gonna get a piece of her mind! But where to look?
