Robin did his best to hold up the tremendous weight pressed upon him, but his strength proved finite. He faltered, the orb of fat and muscle falling on top of him and squeezing the air out of his lungs, while preventing him from taking any new air in. By the time Fire lifted her breast off of the boy, he was unconscious, the Brazilian woman offering a slight sneer.
"And you seemed so nice too. I guess I see why Hawkgirl came along."
"Meaning?"
Nearly jumping at the voice, Fire turned around, seeing the not-too-pleased face of Hawkgirl looking at him. Quickly, the heroine fumbled for an explanation as she stood up.
"Well, I mean, he's just so annoying. He's lying through his teeth, and you're familiar with the Batman, so it's obvious you have expertise..."
The last remark caused Hawkgirl to nearly burst into laughter, an action which only confused Fire.
"You think this little brat is a thing like Batman? Batman would never make such a scene out of this! He wouldn't whine about a woman's affection, he'd politely refute her, say 'I'm Batman' and then call it a day. But this little...punk, he needs to announce to the world that he's a professional and that he's better than everyone else because he doesn't fraternize and is professional all the time."
"You're saying this is an act?"
"A desperate cry for attention," scoffed the Thangarian, holding her mace.
"And how do you presume all this?"
"I was a cop on my homeworld. The job requirements don't change too much planet to planet. Seeing motivation in bigger cases helps."
"OK," Fire answered, her look of shock long gone, replaced with a sly smile. "Enlighten me why the little bird boy isn't like his mentor."
"He's acting out," Hawkgirl answered. "He wants to be seen as worthy to his mentor, so he takes everything he sees his mentor do when fighting crime and magnifies it times a thousand. Strangely, he seems to the only one that acts like that. If the other Robin was put in this situation, he would probably jump on you with open arms."
Fire laughed at the thought of another Robin, particularly one that would enjoy the situation, but then turned her attention to the shrunken man. "So, why did you agree to come?"
"Easy," answered Hawkgirl. "First, the world doesn't need a bad parody of Batman running around. Secondly, that holier than thou attitude Starfire was complaining about really, really pisses me off."
"And you seemed so nice too. I guess I see why Hawkgirl came along."
"Meaning?"
