Aang had originally been trying to get back into the Spirit World...again. He didn't remember doing anything different than before. Breathe in, breathe out, empty all his thoughts of worldly attachments, the whole shebang. He even felt the numbing tingle in his body whenever he transitioned from the mortal realm to the Spirit World. But when he opened his eyes, he was not in the Spirit World. He seemed, rather, to be in a giant forest, as he was surrounded by tall green trees that towered over him.
"Whoa," Aang muttered, "That's new...I'm pretty sure this isn't the Spirit World...but I don't remember anything like this..."
Aang then heard the ground rumble and the sky above him get darker. That was when Aang started to realize the 'trees' were not trees at all. It was grass. REALLY tall grass. And much to his surprise, he saw the face of the earthbending teacher, Toph Bei Fong, towering over him.
"Did I...did I SHRINK?" Aang asked with a startling realization.
"Sure did, Twinkle Toes," Toph said, somehow able to perfectly hear him despite the size difference, "Consider this...endurance training."
How does Toph plan to test Aang's survival skills?
