"Zzzzzzz.....more meat...zzzzz."
Were those words the sound of a hungry person, a starving man? No they were the words of a sleeping pirate; a pirate by the name of Monkey D. Luffy. Clad in a simply blue shirt and shorts with a strawhat Luffy was far from what most would consider to be a pirate; but the fact remained that he was, and one of the most known in the world. Luffy was a simpleton, but a good man, kind, strong, does the right thing, and has a deep addiction to meat. Most important of all though is that Luffy is a Rubber Man, a man who can stretch any part of his body out as if he were made of rubber (which he was.) It was a curse attained through eating a Devils Fruit, at the cost of the ability to swim Luffy had became rubber and used it to become a pirate. Despite the clear contradiction in becoming a pirate who couldn't swim Luffy indeed became quite a great pirate, with a good if not unusual crew.
Zoro, a former Bounty Hunter and Ace swordsman. Nami, a money grubbing and extremely hot woman with a talent for navigating. Usopp, a cowardly man with an alias of Sogeking which allows him to do great things with his sharpshooter ability. Sanji, the perverted cook. Chopper the talking blue nosed reindeer who doubled as a doctor. Nico Robin, another beautiful voluptous woman who worked as an archaeologist. Franky, a panty wearing cyborg with a heart of gold. And last but not least Brook, a skeleton swordsman and musician. Together these people made up the Strawhat Pirates. This crew brought the term "Weird" to a whole new level but together they had gone through much and had become the best of friends. Though different from the stereotypical pirate the Strawhat crew were all good hearted and did the right thing; despite getting on the goverments bad side more than once. Recently their adventures led the crew to a mass separation through a great battle; but through a series of interesting adventures the crew was together again and enjoying time on their ship the Thousand Sunny.
With no particular destination in mind the ship sailed, everyone doing their own thing and Luffy deep in a comatose level of sleep. His dream was what you would expect in the mind of a fat person; meat, mountains and mountains of meat for him to injest. It was more or less Luffy's idea of heaven, and he ate and ate as much as he could. That is exactly all that happened until Luffy happened to eat a certain piece of meat, unlike the other ripe muttons and such this one meat tasted sour and before Luffy could spit it out he had swallowed it whole. With a sudden chill Luffy cringed over, the light playful atmosphere of the haven seemed to disappear all around; replacing itself with darkness. A voice called out to Luffy, loud enough to be mistaken for God; and it spoke to him as if it knew all about him. "Monkey D. Luffy....you have achieved much in the short amount of time you have become a pirate, but you still have not followed the typical road of one. You and your crew fight like Revolutionaries or pure hearted Marines rather than pirates. Tell me, why do you walk the path of a pirate when you clearly are much more suited for other roles?"
Luffy rose to his feet and...grinned? "Because I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!"
The voice seemed to chuckle, "He said the same thing....Strawhat! I am addressing you because of one thing; when you awaken you will find yourself in a situation unlike any you have ever faced. I contacted you to see whether or not I should intervene in this and save you. Can you guess what I chose?"
Luffy didn't even seem to grasp half of what was said, "I don't care! Whatever comes I'll handle it! Because I'm gonna be King of the Pirates!"
"Which is why I chose to do nothing. I have watched your journey from afar for quite some time Strawhat, if you really are intent on staying on the path of Gol D. Roger then you will have to overcome this on your own. Now farewell..."
Luffy stepped forward to try and stop whatever it was from leaving; but it did nothing of course. All that happened was an image surfaced in his mind. An image of a stern looking man with an intricate tattoo on the left side of his face. He looked....familiar. But before Luffy could place it the world around him blurred into nothingness...
"Wah!"
Luffy sat upright panting, was it all a dream? It seemed...so real...the voice. It mentioned a situation Luffy would have to face, was that a mere dream too? "Ugh...I need some water....and meat." Luffy got to his feet and started walking. After a couple moments he managed to get far enough to lazily leapt off his bed...wait...leapt off his bed? While falling it hit Luffy that he had never needed to do that before; and why did the ground seem so far away? There was only one logical explanation.
"OH MY GOD EVERYTHING GREW!!"
In his head something, probably his conscience or maybe just memory of Nami always correcting him; but no matter what it was it corrected Luffy. "No...you've shrunk." Luffy had a blank look of understanding on his face, oddly calm as he landed on the ground. "So I somehow shrank....wait..." An idea came to mind. "I CAN EAT MORE MEAT LIKE THIS!!" Like a little school girl Luffy grinned and started skipping towards his door miles away.
"I'm gonna start with some steak! And some mutton! Maybe even get some bacon! May this is gonna be great!!!" If Luffy's dream was heaven the ideas he was having now were probably heaven's heaven. He marched ever happily towards the door...when it opened.
"Huh?" Luffy muttered when the door opened, who was coming in?
