Luffy couldn't help but stare at Nami in nervousness; mainly because she was eyeing him like she eyed money...not a good sign. And the awkward silence was really getting to him, what to do what to do. Nami called him her pet...he didn't particularly care about that but Luffy had more pressing matters. He had to become the Pirate King! He wanted to do his typical loudmouth thing but...for some reason he was just silent; even he couldn't understand it. So he took to keeping himself entertained with a staredown between him and Nami...which ended in countless defeats for him. Finally after several long minutes of the silence Nami grinned and spoke, "I bet you're wondering why you shrunk huh?"
Luffy managed to find the will to speak again, "Not really, as long as I become Pirate King nothing else matters."
Nami let out a content sigh, " such a one track mind. ""Well you have to be big to be Pirate King don't you?"
Luffy had to think for a minute, "Yeah...I guess you're right. So why did I shrink?"
Nami giggled, "I shrunk you of course."
"Oh...." Luffy seemed oddly calm about it; that is until the realization of Nami's words dawned on him, then his jaw literally fell to the floor. "WHAT!!?!?"
Nami giggled at the delayed response, "Yeah, I snuck in last night and did it to you. Check it out." She gestured towards her wrist where a gold bracelet was. "Like it?"
Luffy scratched his head, "Looks...sorta familiar...."
Nami nodded, "As it should. We picked this up on Sky Island. We just never really tried it. But I did one day and guess what?! It's a shrinking dial! One shot makes you an inch tall!"
"Wow that's cool!" Nami smiled at Luffy's understandable excitement, but give it a second...."Now that you've shown me unshrink me!"
"I would.....but I can't....and I honestly meant what I said about you as a pet ya know."
"But...why..." Luffy was not understanding this a bit.
In response Nami just got her devious smirk, "I just....wanted some fun. And...with you being a rubberman and all....you're the most convenient. If I stepped on you you would be fine."
Luffy shrugged, "Yeah I guess that's true...." His inappropriate behavior knew no bounds.
Nami kept on talking, getting a slight high from not only being so powerful over Luffy, but him not even seeming to mind. Course he was just that way but she didn't have to let that kill her buzz. "Now Luffy....what to do with you?"
"MEAT PLEASE!!!"
Nami flicked him, "NO!" Luffy looked like he was about to cry.
Nami was about to discipline him some more when an idea came to mind, "Wait...if one shot makes you this small...what will another shot do?" Luffy turned white at the idea, and Nami's now scary face told him she was more than willing to experiment to find out.
"Time to find out~" She practically sang as she pushed a switch on her bracelet, a small thin beam escaped and hit Luffy. No matter how he ran it was simply too much for him to outrun without using Gear Second. But he had no time to even charge that up. As a result he was hit, and in the next few moments he would find out just how large the world around him would become. How large Nami would become, and how small he would become....
