"Vivi? She brought all sorts of herbs and stuff for Alabasta didn't she?" It was an answer you could expect from Luffy; don't see the doctor of the ship no no no, go visit a friend who might have a cure that might work. It was simply how Luffy worked and Nami as well as the rest of the Strawhat Crew had long learned to deal with that. Thankfully Vivi had boarded their ship the Thousand Sunny when the Strawhats ran into her on an island; something about going out on a mission for medicine for her country. Naturally when they saw eachother everyone reacted happily (Except Brook and Franky who had to be filled in.) It was soon decided Vivi would journey for a couple islands for old times sake, but she had to return to Alabasta soon so it couldn't be no longer than a week. At least with all the medicinal supplies she picked up when they found her she might be able to help.
Nami sighed at her questionable captain, "Are you sure you don't want Chopper? It seems awfully weird that you're insistent on Vivi."
Luffy responded quickly, so quickly in fact it was clear he didn't think a single word out. "I ain't no Sanji! I just think Vivi would be better for the job."
"You just missed her." Nami sneered.
"Well DUH!!!! But more importantly......she said that some of those supplies are stuff like redfish meat and meat veggies and all sorts of cool foods right?"
"Hell-o ulterior motive. " Nami thought sarcastically, and all the confirmation she needed was the foot of drool dangling for Luffy's lips. "So you made up your mind I take it?" Twas a pointless question but no harm in confirmed her random captain's thought process. Luffy stretched his mouth to its limits. The result was actually a sort of megaphone effect. "YES NOW GO!!! TIME FOR FOOD-I MEAN HELP!" Nami sighed and went.
All around the crew was doing their usual thing, Zoro was asleep, Usopp was tinkering with stuff, Chopper and Robin were reading books together, Brook was humming quietly while working on some music, Franky was doing some ship maintenance, and lastly Sanji was unconcious due to the nosebleeds he was getting between time with Robin, Vivi and Nami (Don't worry he got medical attention). Vivi was secure in her room for now, both Robin and Nami suggested it would be best for her health. The princess would likely wear herself out when partying with this odd collection of people. Her room wasn't hard to find at all so Nami arrived in mere minutes. Vivi was doing nothing but sitting on her bed staring out the window with a smile. When Nami walked in she turned to greet her with a smile, "Hi there Nami! What do you need? Money?"
Nami cringed at Vivi bringing that up; an internal conflict ensued, money or Luffy? Luffy won...but barely; the dollar signs were still on her eyes as she spoke. "Actually...we have a small problem." Nami opened her cupped hands to reveal Luffy who waved as if nothing was wrong. "Hey there Vivi! I heard you got some food an-"
"STAY FOCUSED IDIOT!!!" Nami snapped.
Vivi didn't know how to react so she simply walked up and inspected Luffy. "What happened?" Luffy shrugged. "Do you have any idea?" Again a shrug. A sweatdrop appeared on Vivi, "Well do you have any idea what could help?"
"MEAT!"
"TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY!" Nami slammed her fist into him. After a moment Nami calmly looked Vivi in the eyes while her bruised captain was moaning in pain, "Vivi do you have any clue what to do?"
Vivi made a loud "Hmmm" Noise for several moments, "Well...there are a dozen of shrinking diseases out there. But about half of them are probably myths and half of the remaining ones have no cures. And of course we have no idea whats a myth and what isn't. This really seems like a task suited for Chopper."
"NOOO!!! IT HAS TO BE YOU!!!!" Vivi blushed while Nami leaned forward to explain, "He's trying to get some exotic food." That cleared things up quick and Vivi nodded happily, "Why I'd love to help then. I'll take him off your hands Nami."
Nami uncertainly handed him to the Alabastian princess, "You sure.... you know how he is..."
Vivi nodded, "Trust me I think I can handle it." Luffy was cheering on Vivi's hand, "YEAH!!!" Cheering for what exactly, no one knew. Nami stepped back to the door, "Okay; give a holler if you need someone to straighten ol rubber boy out. I think that he'd be good as some gum beneath my shoe for a little while." Luffy paled with a clear "She's Scary!" look on his face as Nami left with a giggle and wave.
"Now how bout that meat?!" Luffy turned back to Vivi.
Vivi looked away for the briefest of seconds. "Actually Luffy....
