It was a pretty good day in Littleroot town. People were smiling, Pokemon were playing, and the sun was shining brightly over them all. The town was in the middle of a famed festival so naturally crowds littered the streets of the small town, filled with tourists and people shopping; one of these shoppers was a young girl named May. May was a cute enough girl, nice body, great attitude, a deep love for Pokemon and her friends would vouch for her in any event because of these. Her friends she journeyed with were also quite kind, Ash a young trainer who sought to become a Pokemon Master, Brock a young adult who wanted to be a breeder, and lastly May's own younger brother Max who wanted to be a trainer too. May loved each of them dearly and together the group had more than their fair share of adventures, but the one that May would undergo now would make all of them seem like nothing.
As mentioned May was shopping, currently alone due to her and her friends agreeing to split up and enjoy the town. Being May and Max's home town just walking around brought a feeling of nostalgia. Littleroot was a small town so almost every one of the residents May recognized and they recognized May. Many asked about her adventures, her friends and her group of Pokemon; a few also asked about her and Ash...in a rather implicative way that made the girl blush and get flustered. It was fun to say the least but time was running out and the day would soon end; May had no choice but to head to the Pokemon center she agreed to meet her friends at. She began walking with the bustle of tourists dying town and the town regaining its tranquil atmosphere. There really was no place like home after all, not that May really minded but the tourists made it too noisy.
Just calmly walking in the slowly darkening town May passed a single thing that caught her attention; a small sales booth. May didn't recognize it so it naturally peaked her interest. "Probably here for the tourists...ah well no harm in paying a visit. " Absent mindedly May browsed the things for sale along the counter, no one was there and May was broke so browsing was all she really could do. The booth seemed to be selling Pokeballs, a bunch of rare ones too by the looks of it; May didn't recognize half of them.
"Ah a customer.." A voice called out. A quick look to the side told May that someone had arrived. It was apparently a young woman in a cloak, wearing a Pikachu mask too. It was pretty normal for people to dress up so mysteriously at the Littleroot festival so May didn't particularly care. "Why hello there. I'm sorry to say I'm just browsing miss."
The saleswoman clasped her hands and her eyes softened, "Oh no worries dear. For a young cutie like you I think a freebie is in order. Money is no issue with me."
May blinked in surprise, "Really? Are you sure?" Her eyes narrowed in slight suspicion, this person....seemed very familiar. Someone older than her...than much was certain but, she couldn't quite place it. And would probably come off rude to just ask for her to remove the mask. "Um have we met?"
The saleswoman shook her head fast, in fact probably too fast. "No not at all. But I have heard of you; you are the coordinator May correct? I think a free Pokeball is the least I can do to help your cause."
May's suspicious expression turned into a big smile, "Oh a fan. That explains why you're familiar, I probably saw you in the crowd or something. I guess my reputation proceeds me. Hahaha." May wasn't quite used to having fans yet.
The saleswoman smiled, or at least...seemed to, the mask made it kind of hard. "Why yes, you and your friends have quite a reputation. Young Ash is still famous for his Pokemon League runs in Kanto and Johto. Word of Brock has spread along the various Nurse Joy's and Jenny's. And you of course have a great record as a Pokemon Coordinator." The saleswoman seemed to be prattling on but May didn't interrupt her, finally she just laughed. "Oh but listen to me go on. Pardon me I just really like you guys, heck Ash is pretty cute!" That last bit made May cringe a little bit, she knew she had a crush on the trainer and hearing people talk like that bothered her. But oddly enough it made her seem even more familiar.
"Anyway here is my gift to you May." The woman held out a solid black Pokeball, "A rarity all the way from the Orange Islands. The S-Ball!"
"Wow...." May's expression was one of solid awe and amazement. "An S-Ball...I haven't even heard of that before. What does the S stand for?"
The woman laughed mysteriously, "Oh I think you'll find out soon enough. But it really is amazing; it can pinpoint you to the nearest wild Pokemon as well as almost guarantee to catch it. Go ahead and give it a try."
May had already pushed the button, "Catches and finds Pokemon? I love it. Thank you mi-" A loud spraying noise disrupted the young coordinator as a white cloud of smoke came from the ball and surrounded May. Having dealt with numerous smoke screens before May already had a hand at her mouth and expected a fit of coughing to come, but this smoke wasn't upsetting her lungs at all. In fact...it just made her body feel weird.
"Wh-What did you do?" Blindly May ran a hand through the smoke, not touching anything of course. But she didn notice something that really caught her attention, her glove she had worn since departing for her journey was gone! Did this person smoke screen May just for a glove? May checked her other hand and sure enough, that glove was gone too. And now that she thought about it her feet kind of tickled...She looked down and gasped, May's shoes were gone too! Hell, May looked all over herself and all clothes were gone! May questioned why she didn't feel it, and then she realized what this odd feeling the smoke gave her was...numbness. She couldn't feel a thing, heck it was a miracle she noticed her feet feeling ticklish. The smoke began to clear as a bright blush formed on the girl's face, "I need to find that woman and fast or else I'm gonna be naked in front of the town!"
An unusually loud voice from above responded, "I don't think you will have to worry too much about that little May."
The smoke cleared a little bit more and May caught a glimpse of something...and gasped yet again. Before her was a very familiar item, her shoe....only it had to be ten times taller than her! Heck, with more and more smoke clearing all of May's clothes were noticable in the ground, all huge as can be.
" So that is what the S in S-Ball is for...shrinking!" May realized with a gasp, if her shoe was ten times her height there was no telling how small she was. A centimeter? A milimeter? Less? Finally the smoke dissipated completely and the masked woman stood towering before May, eyes showing much more than joy. "Heh, it worked...." The woman began to remove her mask at long last and May gasped as she recognized who it was at long last....
