Leaning her head against the room's wall Yoruichi stretched her body to its fullest on the mattress, her bare feet ending up before Naruto who did the same.
"I think we should just chat for a bit."
Naruto's response was heard to interpret due to his size but with her keen senses Yoruichi heard him. "What do you wanna talk about my goddess?"
Yoruichi raised a finger as if lecturing. "First off please don't call me that, it's kinda weird hearing you of all people calling me that."
Pausing for a moment Naruto seemed to think about this, "Okay.......Yoruichi."
"Much better." The giantess muttered with a happy sigh.
The two were silent for a minute, each wondering what to say. Finally Naruto asked his question, "So why are you so desperate to 'save' me?"
The question threw Yoruichi off guard, she forgot Naruto's lack of subtlety. "Well....when I saw you like that with Soi Fon....it just wasn't right. I heard all about you and Hinamori, word flies around the Seireitei fast, and it was just wrong. That's why I don't like the Female Shinigami Association too much, no matter what is brought up it has to be voted on. Yachiru, the president nomianated the idea of you as a pet and everyone pretty much had to agree. It was just wrong."
"So you saved me due to a sense of rightchousness?" The question was said with all of the seriousness Naruto had but his face wore an amused smirk.
Like Naruto, Yoruichi also wore a smirk "Anything wrong with that? ANT man?"
"Ant arrancar." Naruto corrected with a laugh.
Yoruichi let her smile vanish, "My turn then, why did you give up like that? The Naruto I knew would have probably fought stubbornly for months hell years before giving up, but you did it in one day."
The pleasant aura from Naruto's face vanished, instead becoming replaced with a distant sad look Yoruichi was all to familiar with. "It's just......I've never given up before. On anything, and look at what it got me." Yoruichi's eyes widened as Naruto looked up at her with a sad smile on his face along with a few tears in his eyes.
"Failed to save my dearest friend, Lost those I loved, died, lost the ones I loved again, ended up more or less alone, and then shrunk and at a girl's feet. Not giving up has brought me nothing but grief in life and death. I figure I gotta change something and at my size a foot toy is about all I'm good for." Letting the sentence hang in the air Naruto quickly laughed, it wasn't a happy go lucky laugh, it was more of a troubled, life sucks kind of laugh. To hear it come from him was eerie, like he didn't belong with the particular sound.
Silent Yoruichi brought her hand before Naruto and quickly pulled her finger back and flicked the little knucklehead on his head. "You really are an idiot. You're blaming all your worst moments due to not giving up but what about all the good times? Hell, what about now? You're at the mercy of a sexy cat-girl goddess." Yoruichi laughed slightly at her little joke.
Bewildered Naruto shook his head at the giant. "Some good, tons of bad. It's simple math."
"You suck at math!"
Naruto chuckled, "Maybe but even an idiot knows when he's beat. The time I've spent with you is wonderful but I know that unless I either return to normal or find something worth living for I'm nothing more than a toy to be used by some person."
Yoruichi appeared as if she would cry herself, "Naruto......."
