"Crap! Where did he come from?!" Kumiko said under her breath.
"Well whaddya know...A bunch of teenage brats is all it took to beat my gang...Either kids these days are getting more and more powerful, or you were right about my lot being a bunch of slackers, kid!" A giant of a shinobi walked into view of everyone, much to Kenji and your surprise.
"KUMIKO! WHAT THE HELL!?! YOU SAID THEIR WERE ONLY NINE OF THEM!" You and Kenji asked Kumiko with irritation.
"Don't blame the girl for not spotting me...Nothing but a simple Burrowing Claw Technique...I was so deep underground not even a Hyuga would be able to spot me..." The goliath ninja explained.
"Boss! Over here! Free us and we'll kill these brats together!..." The detained ninja pleaded to their seemingly boss.
"QUIT YOUR YAPPING ALL OF YA! You got your asses handed to you by a few Genin-" He began to say.
"Chunin!" You and your team corrected.
"Is that so? Look like you kids passed the exams right out of the gate...Impressive...Most of my men didn't pass the exams until after their third attempt...And some of them didn't even pass it at all..." The massive ninja revealed.
"That explains why it was so easy..." The three of you realized.
"So...I have a deal for you little Chunin...You can keep those losers, in exchange, I'd like to trade 'em for weapons..."
"WHAT!?!" The rogue ninja said in shock.
"They must be worthless if you're so willing to trade them for weapons..." Kumiko made known.
"Between you and me, they aren't...But their combined bounty is five million ryo...I'd wager more than your entire convoy's worth..." The Rogue ninja boss said.
"You'd wager wrong...This cargo manifest says that this convoy has an A-ra-...No way..." Kenji said with the manifest in hand.
"What? What is it!?" You, Kumiko and the Rogue ninja boss asked.
"It says here that there is an S-rank weapon onboard...That's impossible...Right?!" Kenji asked in uncertainty.
"S-rank cargo?...But that has to be a fluke! Cargo like that would have a team of Fukushū, or Jonin at least..." You said.
"What's so special about an S-rank weapon?" Kumiko asked.
"Yeah...What the big deal...Is it made of gold or something?!" The ninja boss asked.
"The only other S-rank weapons that I really know of are the Seven Swords of the Hidden Mist." You responded.
"Bullcrap! The Seven Swords of the Mist are from the Village of the Hidden Mist!" The ninja boss stated.
"Not true...They were made by our first Bakikage, but gifted to Seven Ninja Swordsmen for saving him when he was ambushed in the Land of Water...As a token of his gratitude, he gifted them weapons that would be known as the Seven Swords of the Mist..." Kenji explained.
"He's right...The Swordsmen may be of the Hidden Mist, but the swords are from the Hidden Sheath..." Confirmed a rogue kunoichi from the Hidden Mist.
"Hmmmmmm...I see...Tell you what...Let me have this S-rank weapon, and you three can keep the rest, AND the others...A modest payday for you all..." The ninja boss proposed.
"No way josé! In case you didn't know, THIS is our mission! Cargo like this can only mean that if we complete it, we could be looking at promotions to Jonin. Besides, we pride ourselves in succeeding in every mission we go on, and we're in no mood to stop now!" You firmly stated.
"Hehe...Well don't say I didn't give you kids an out...Tell you what...I'll let you take the first strike..." The boss taunted.
"One strike is all I need!" Kenji said as he charged at the large ninja.
"Kenji, no!" Kumiko said.
"Get him Kenji!" You said with encouragement.
Kenji landed the hit, but it did nothing but move the shinobi a few inches back.
"Huh?! What the-!?" Was all Kenji could say before the Ninja boss grabbed him by the collar and threw him back way pass his friends and through a few trees.
"I'm okay!..." Kenji managed to say.
You and Kumiko looked at each other with worry.
"He just threw Kenji like he was nothing..." Kumiko said.
"He took a hit from Kenji like it's nothing..." You said.
"Last chance kiddos..."
"Who are you?!" You asked nervously.
"Hmmmmm...Maybe you'd know who I am from my name...I am Kasshoku, Savage Bear of the Land of Earth...Enemy of Anbu...Scourge of Jonin...Crusher of Chunin, and nightmare of Genin..." Kasshoku said.
"Kasshoku?...He was a top level Jonin from Iwagakure." Kumiko remembers from her studies of Missing-nin.
"Someone's done their research...Yes, I'm a Top level Jonin from my village...Or at least I was...Revered by my village, but not respected enough to be inducted into the Anbu...And for that I loathe them, but not just the Anbu from my own village, no...All of them..." He said as he turned his back to the two of you, showing that his long cloak was embroidered with the masks of Anbu from all five major Shinobi nations.
"Well damn...That's one hell of a killcount..." You said.
"So again I'll ask you again...Hand over the S-rank weapon and the rest is yours...I won't ask again..." Kasshoku commanded.
"Well...you convinced us...Now we have to beat you!" You said to Kasshoku.
"Fine...I'll take it myself..." Kasshoku said as he walked towards the convoy.
"Oh no you don't!" You said, charging at the missing-nin with a flying drop kick, only for Kasshoku to catch him by the ankle.
"Is that the best you've got little boy?" Kasshoku said mockingly.
"Nope!" You said with a grin as you break free of his hold and deck the bottom of your shoes onto his face, "Ninja Secret Art: Bomb Drop Kick!" You said as you finished the appropriate hand signs to turn the bottom of your feet into quasi-paper bombs, then setting them off directly against Kasshoku's face. Due to your Āsenaru nature, you and your kin are able to survive most attacks, as long as you have enough chakra. The explosion launched you into a backflip and Kasshoku back with a stagger, while your legs reformed from the debris of the explosions.
"Grrr! You little twerp! Come here so I can wring you neck! What the-" Was what the Missing-nin said, unaware that Kumiko had used a round of punches to make one of his legs go numb.
"Sonsho, get the cargo out of here!" Kumiko commanded.
"LOOK OUT!" You warned.
It was too late. Kumiko got backhanded with an Earth Style: Bear Strike Jutsu, sending her to the ground.
"You're next, kid!" Kasshoku said as he walked towards you with a limp.
*CRACK!*
Kenji came from above with a large tree branch, smashing it onto Kasshoku's head and landing behind him.
"Up for round two, asshole?" Kenji said, ready for a fight.
"Hmmmmmm! When I'm done with you, you'll be six feet under!" Kasshoku growled.
Kenji approached Kasshoku, now with caution.
Kasshoku charged at Kenji with a swipe of his still active Jutsu, fortunately Kenji dodged it and countered with a cross to the face. It lands, but Kasshoku handled it and kicked Kenji in the back while his back was slightly exposed, sending him to the ground.
"Time to die..." Kasshoku said, ready to smash Kenji into the ground with a stomp, until you quickly turned one of you arms into a volley of kunai, sending them flying towards his leg, making him fall onto his back.
Kumiko took the opportunity to pounce onto Kasshoku and delivered a flurry of chain punches with a Lightning chakra nature directly to his already pain ridden face. After the flurry, she backflips and performed a Fireball Jutsu. Unfortunately, Kasshoku used his Burrowing Claw Jutsu to evade it.
"Damnit! I can't sense him!" Kumiko said in a desperate attempt to use her recon training to find him.
"Gotcha both!" Kasshoku said as he had Kenji in a headlock in one arm, and Kumiko's neck in a vice grip. "Alright! I've just about had it! Give me the damn weapon and i'll only kill one of ya! You choose who dies, boy!" Kasshoku said with unbridled rage in his eyes.
What do you do?
