"How did this even happen?" I slumped trying to piece together everything and failing miserably. The Holy Grail War...A war I can't even remember entering. It just began. My first opponent remains unknown but in a week we were to fight. But before that could even happen suddenly everything went to hell. My Servant and I entered the dungeon ready for another day's worth of training and exploration when a new enemy appeared. My partner seemed unable to recognize the enemy as a part of the system, but there was no way to run. So we fought. Next thing I knew I was like this.
A loud sigh came from before me, the red-clothed Servant stared at at me with frustrated eyes. "First I get summoned by a weak Master with amnesia and now this. You're definitely not making this easy." She was sitting down regally in a chair, legs crossed.
"Well pardon me for suddenly shrinking Saber." I spat out in response.
The enemy, whatever it was, shrank me on the spot. Due to our connection Saber managed to find me in time to force a retreat. The enemy vanished in the light that shrank me so we managed to return to the school again. We had no choice but to run to the NPC who ran the War, Kotomine. His reaction was troubling.
"It would appear there is a glitch or perhaps even a virus in the system. We will attempt to fix the error but in the mean time the Holy Grail War is on an indefinite Hiatus."
When I asked about me his silence was enough to make me worry. Though he was considerate enough to send me to the nurse. Me and Saber were in her office awaiting her. Neither of us expected much to come from this but there were no options. Every other Master in the school was an enemy who wouldn't think twice about crushing me like a bug. The NPC's were my only real option but they were limited by the SE.RA.PH. System.
"This is too annoying." Saber moaned.
I didn't say anything, my giant Servant's words were beginning to get on my nerves too. Normally I'd say something but I'm still tip-toeing. I know nothing about Saber. We met days ago and our relationship goes as far as barely co-operating. I don't want to fight the other Masters, and Saber has voiced her objections to that ideal very clearly. If it wasn't for me being her Master I suspect she might have crushed me herself just to avoid the annoyance. A quick glance to her feet assured me they were definitely big enough to kill me in a second.
Finally after what seemed like an eternity the door opened and in came the Nurse NPC Sakura. I knew she was just intricate data but her appearance was actually sort of attractive. She looked like a girl about my age with a petite body and extraordinarily long hair. She knelt down to the table I sat on. "Sorry I took so long. I was just checking everyone else to make sure this system error didn't extend to anywhere else. Um...wasn't that priority list a bit backwards? I didn't say anything in response.
"Is there anything you can do Doctor?" Saber leaned her face against her fist boredly. Sakura raised her eyes for a moment. Everything was silent but she finally answered with a sad shaking of her head. "I don't think so. I have no idea what may have caused this. And I'm no expert on magical things if that's what this is about. I just fix physical wounds." She spoke regretfully.
"Is there anyone who can fix it if it's a magical issue?" It would appear my Servant was speaking for me from now on.
"It's possible that there's a couple people who might. I'll go get them." Sakura left as quickly as she came.
"How incompetent." Saber muttered a complaint.
"At least she's trying."
Saber's eyes seemed to signal that she didn't care. We were stuck waiting again.
