You shake your head, having enough experience with these things to remember why you feel suddenly attracted to something like the smell of your sister's foot. It's not really the fact that you just spent attached to it God knows how long, from what you understand it's just another little quirk of your condition, a condition that still keeps you in this world even if basically toy sized.

A quick look at the threatening sole that once again left the floor and was swinging lazily above you confirms your suspicions, you are no longer a bit taller than it, so you "died". At least it wasn't so serious this time, you can tell because you are just a bit smaller than the foot above you, if it was an extreme case, you would be only a couple of inches tall by now. You shudder at the thought of it, life was already pretty difficult with you as things stand.

And because you died, you not only shrunk, but your body did some of those things it always does when it knows it's game over. Thankfully not the lose control of the bladder part, but the memories, the weird flow of adrenaline, all that does happen. And because you come back to life, for some reason it ends up manifesting as a slight fixation on those last feelings, fixation that at first you shrugged off but that you started to notice more as you grew up. To this day, you don't know if you like cars because every guy does or because of that accident, but other things you got interested later in life.. you just started to see some connections. By the time you were plastered for the first time, it took you a week or so to realize you weren't developing an embarrassing fetish, it was just your immortality playing tricks on you.

But you notice this time it feels more intense for some reason, or at least from what you remember. It does take you a bit to trudge away from that enticing view that you KNOW is not that enticing, made worse by the knowledge that the smell of what could have been isn't leaving you just yet and there's no body of water nearby to speed up that process. But your awareness of the situation helps you focus, and you finally get to a spot where you can understand and remember what is going on.

Your sister and her bestie Lauren took up the spare room with the big desk upstairs to study and they are hard at work, or so it seems. They are both sitting there, not talking but having some pop music you don't recognize in the background, all you hear above you other than the music is the sound of pages turning, elbows hitting the desk unintendedly. It makes you miss and not miss having the normal school experience at the same time. You decide you shouldn't bother them and should just leave to do whatever it was you were doing earlier, wondering where on earth did the newspaper end.

"Ugh, now what?" You think to yourself as you notice they have closed the door and with it your chance to get the hell away from there, you are still to big to squeeze under it and have no desire to provide viable alternatives to that particular train of thought. You have to call their attention then.

"Sis, Lauren!" you try half heartedly and give up quickly, because you already had troubles making yourself heard before, and now you were smaller, and as long as that music kept going on your chances were slim. You will just have to approach them but.. you look under the desk at the two pairs of socked feet and decide to think twice about it. What else could you do? There isn't much on this room, a table, a couch, a small bookcase, the window, that's it. The best option is obvious but you hesitate, you know you are still feeling that fixation, that desire. Sometimes it goes away quickly, but this time it's not the case. Going back there could be a very stupid choice, it could be better to try climbing the couch, or wait until one of the two girls took a break.. You take another look, and cannot help but wonder if the fixation is just with your sister Alexis, the one that plastered you, or if being near Lauren would have the same effect.. but why are you still thinking about it? The same part of you that is warning you about that irrational longing it's telling you to just go and be done with this as quickly as you can.
