"Ouch!" I said as I sat up on the bed rubbing the back of my neck. "Yeah, that will happen when you break your neck when falling down the stairs" said Jessica as she stood right up close to me. "How...how long was I out for?" I asked as I looked way up to see the doctor's face. "Well...you were past out for almost a day and a half. You were lucky that you were sent here before you came back to life" answered Jessica.
"Is it true what that woman said?" I asked. "What those nurses back then, what about it?" asked Jessica. "That I'm now four foot five, I've lost seven inches" I answered. "I'm afraid that's true...but this seem to be took much for one death. Did you perhaps died before going to the mall?" asked Jessica as she looked down at me with a worried look. "Yeah...I kinder did. Its like I'm some sort of magnet to death for the last few days" I answered as I looked away from her eyes.
"What happened?" asked Jessica as she knelt down. "I died in my sleep when I had an accident at the local swimming pool" I answered. "Okay, its okay, I'm sure we can get around this to explain to the public if asked as to why your smaller" said Jessica as she stood up. "Public? I'm not going to go outside at this height" I said as I looked at her. "Come now, you know as the family doctor its up to me as to what is best. You can still live a normal life" said Jessica as she turned round and headed towards the door.
As Jessica was about to open the door, it knocked, which she opened and standing by the entrance was a woman holding a police badge. "Hi i'm Detective Allison Roberts. Could I have a word with Luke?" asked the woman. "I think he's fine for questioning" answered Jessica as she left the room for the woman to walk towards me.
"Can I help you?" I asked as I looked at her. "On the day when you fell down the stairs, do you remember anything about it?" asked Allison as she looked at me. "Not that I can think of, I just fell...oh" I said as I remembered something. "What is it?" asked Allison. "I remember that a very tall woman knocked into which caused me to fall" I answered.
"I thought so" said Allison as she turned around. "What...what is it?" I asked. "Based on the Mall's CCTV footage, that woman tried to kill you" answered Allison as she looked back at me. "Wait what?" I asked as I was shocked to hear that. "Its not that she wanted to kill you, its more like a random killing. based on mood of the woman on CCTV she probably wasn't thinking straight" she answered as she looked at me. "Why are you telling me this?" I asked. "Well its just that there might be a chance that she might want to kill again due to you seeing her face. Just in case, here" answered Allison as she handed me a card with a telephone number.
"What this?" I asked. "That's for you to call me if you happen to see that woman again. Don't worry. Nothing bad will happen to you" answered Allison as she headed towards the door. "Oh...its best not to tell anyone about this till we bring this to light" she said as she left. I just sat there not knowing as to what I should think.
There was a knock on the door and in came...
