When Blake woke up he felt quite disoriented, a kind of sensation his body could only associate with that time he had a terrible hangover. All he could notice was that he was laying on a soft surface and at first he thought the spirits just ignored his plight, until he finally recovered his senses and noticed how different the room was.
Standing up and taking a quick look he could tell he was in one of the university's dorm rooms, belonging to a girl that seemed to be a bit messy and have a preference for rock music and for the color purple, based on the pieces of clothing laying on the floor and the posters on the wall. He was standing in the room's unmade bed and comparing himself to the giant pillow that was close to him he guessed he was about an inch tall, about the size of a bug as the spirit warned.
Blake was considering whether to test the other part of the deal (not that he didn't trust the spirits, but a part of his brain was just making feel bound to make sure it was true) when a noise in the door made him stop in his tracks, instinctively taking cover next to the pillow to avoid being seen. And just as he got evidence of who the room belonged to his heart skipped a beat.
It was Nora, the girl who has bullied him since high school in all kinds of ways and somehow, also his crush. She closed the door, left her backpack on the floor and stretched before sighing at the state of her room and starting to pick up the discarded clothes.
Blake remained hidden while Nora finished the task and, instead of making the bed too, decided to go to her desk, put on her headphones and check something on her computer. And even if he was apparently safe from being discovered, Blake remained near the pillow as he tried to deal with his emotions, a mix of confusion, intense fear, thrill and admiration that he never felt before.
"No bully will ruin things for you ever again" Blake remembered what one of the spirits said when he summoned them but he knew that was a lost cause, at some point he went from despising Nora's treatment and wanting to get her out of his life to see her as someone with the kind of virtues he just didn't have: Strength, assertiveness, ambition, fire.. Someone he wanted to know more about and that probably was quite charming and interesting behind her cruel attitude. Maybe it was also the fact she was a constant feminine presence in his life, or maybe just some silly variant of Stockholm syndrome but the damage was done, he fell for her and that's why he was on her dorm room.
And that's also why he needed supernatural assistance to approach too, it's not like he just could approach Nora and ask her out without getting a high chance of getting hurt or humiliated in some way. Now he was supposedly invulnerable, but what would Nora do if she noticed him at this size? Blake knew he had a golden chance to know more about her without being noticed, but he also knew he had limited time and getting her attention was the better option to achieve what he wanted.
The spirits told him to be stronger if he wanted to win the heart of his crush, but a part of him was also telling him that revealing himself would put him in great danger, and that part had years of evidence as an argument. Whatever it was, Blake felt he needed to decide and at least move away from the bed, which felt like a dangerous spot to be waiting as time passed.
What happens next?
