You open your eyes and everything looks familiar but at the same time it doesn't. The ceiling is the ceiling, the TV is still on, showing the movie you were watching on Netflix finished and waiting patiently for further input. But you are pretty sure you dozed off on the couch, not on this that feels and even smells familiar but it isn't the couch. The material feels like a shirt, is it your shirt? Why is it so big?
Your eyes open wide and your body goes into full alert mode when you realize the shirt is not the one with the problem, it's you. Everything is huge to you now! The couch you were laying on now stretches across you looking like the size of multiple football fields, and in a little hill of the horizon you can recognize the rest of the clothes you were wearing. Your first instinct is to run to try and get some help, but you immediately stop after checking how far above the floor you are. Sure, there's a carpet below, but you don't know if you can survive such a fall and you don't want to know unless is your only option.
Sighing, you go back to your shirt to cover yourself from the cold while you retrace your steps, how could this have happened? It was a normal day at work, absolutely nothing out of the ordinary then. After that you arrived home, and also as usual your mother and your sister were there already. You had dinner, joked about how it was time to leave the nest (both you and your sister worked and were saving money, but these days you were still a few years off before being able to acquire a house for yourselves), helped your mother clean, and decided to stay on the living room while your sister and mother locked themselves on their bedrooms, so far so good.
And what did you do by yourself? Nothing special either, you just doomscrolled a bit on your phone, put on a movie, went to the fridge, drank some water you found already in a glass on the fridge, and then went back to the couch you are on now until you dozed off. You just realize you have no idea what time it is but unfortunately the phone is in the coffe table in front of the couch, next to the tv remote, an insurmountable abyss apart for you at this size. You also ask yourself how tall are you now, but you have nothing reliable to compare yourself with, all you know is you feel as small as a bug on the huge couch.
Then you realize.. must have been that water. You remember that it tasted a bit funny, not even bad, just not fully like water. What else could it be? But the glass is not even on the coffee table, you remember leaving it on the kitchen counter before laying down on the couch.
Now it's time to think about what to do. You could just lay there until someone woke up, but you could also be proactive. Because you never turned off the lights, you could easily find your way to your mother or sister's room and try reaching out to them, or maybe you could go and wait for them in a place you know they would be looking. Your other option was trying to reach your phone, but that looked a bit farfetched. You could try climbing down the couch or even throwing yourself to the carpet, but what about climbing that table? it didn't look easy at all. You spend a couple of minutes thinking and finally decide what to do.
What happens next?
