The way she moved from room to room didn't leave you any time to think so basically the same scenario was repeated time and time again. You ran (and then jogged because you started to get tired) towards her in a futile attempt to get close to her whenever she stopped, and then ran away (and always kept running because else your life was in danger) from her massive form when she returned.
It was obvious to you that you were too small to be heard, and because she kept looking at her phone all the time there was no chance she would look down at you and recognize you at least as some weird looking bug that deserved a more careful look. When she went back to your bedroom for a last look you gave up and just walked back towards the entrance, recovering your breath and finally getting time to think of a way to catch her attention before she left.
Your neighbor came back towards the entrance as you predicted, but stopped to take a look at the couch you slept in and after that, just scratched her head before looking at her phone again.
"I can't believe he recovers so fast, he looked so wasted last night" Emma said out loud to herself and you rolled your eyes again, you probably owed her an apology for whatever you said or did to her while drunk. You two aren't that close, even if you really needed to make contact with her in some way you felt bad for making her think she should check on you.
What followed next brought good and bad news to you. The good news was how as you predicted she was about to leave the apartment, the bad news that you didn't really manage to come up with a reliable way to get her attention. You were already tired from chasing her around and then having to evade her, and the only thing that came up to your mind was get near her shoe when she was opening the door but after that you have no idea of what you could do.
Your mind was on override as you saw her check her phone once again, definitely chatting with some friend now by the way she shook her head and started typing some message. Should you go climb the shoe and hitch a ride to her apartment? What if she discovered you and wasn't willing to help you? Staying in your place seemed to be the safer option but what exactly could you do here? it's not like you could try calling for someone else if your phone wasn't around, and could you survive by yourself at this size? You thought that even if you let Emma leave you could always squeeze through the door and make it to her apartment by yourself if needed, in case you failed to climb the shoe or just wanted to stay at home for a bit longer waiting for someone else.
Emma finally put her phone back in the pocket of her jeans and moved towards the door
