Tom struggled to keep his eyes open against the current, to take in as much detail from the face of her Goddess as he could before drifting away from her majestic presence. In the instant that he managed to see one of her blue eyes he felt the flashes of the life that was denied to him, a life where he still had his family and Alicia never moved, where he eventually confessed his crush and his love was reciprocated, where he lived happily ever after. But as she blinked, the current easily pushed him downward and forced him to close his eyes, interrupting the happiest dream he ever had. Tom felt another current hitting him, moving him with such speed that it was, finally, too much for him to take.

When he woke up, Tom thought it was the afterlife, and wondered if the so called purgatory was just another planet. This couldn't be heaven because the environment was dark and uninviting, couldn't be hell because there were no flames, in fact everything seemed humid even if the air around him was hot. He got on his knees and probing around the terrain found it was rough, uneven, full of small craters that seemed to be stemming with some viscuous liquid, but at the same time the terrain felt.. thriving somehow. It was hard to explain, but he felt like if there was something moving below that rough surface, constantly. Tom noted how fortunately the liquid didn't seem to be harmful, even if it felt unpleasant and yet familiar. Not knowing what to do he tasted it a bit and found it hard to swallow and not particularly filling or refreshing, but harmless.

An earthquake made Tom roll over and squeak in fear. He didn't understand what was going on but out of nowhere a lake seemed to materialize and run very, very close to him. Holding onto the rough surface for dear life he sharpened his senses to try to understand was going on, but failed, and after a few seconds the lake that was there so close to engulfing him just vanished. Tom wondered if it was some sort of test, or if he was just supposed to wander around in this terrible planet until one of those lakes inevitably claimed him.

Not knowing what else to do and not detecting anyone around, human or otherwise, Tom kept crawling aimlessly until he heard something and suddenly the planet he was in transformed into something else

"Hey Ali"

"Yeah?"

"Can I borrow your shoes for tonights party? They're just what I need for this dress"

The sudden changes in the light, the strength of the air current flowing outward for an instant, the power of her voice that surrounded and easily overhwelmed him made Tom hold on again for dear life but also brought him some really good news. Not only was  he still alive, he was inside Alicia's mouth, in her tongue to be more precise. Struggling to keep his eyes open while the light came and went as she talked with her friend, Tom saw the outline of her teeth and lips, and once the world became dark again it took 
him a couple of minute to process how close he was to her face and her eyes, to be noticed, or to at least see that wonderful vision again, how of course it was her that saved him from death, how what he was holding and what he drank back then felt like indirectly kissing her angel.

Another earthquake made him scream and roll as quickly as he could to one of the sides of Alice's mouth as another lake appeared and disappeared. Now that he knew where it was going, it also reminded him the dangerous terrain he was in. A single involuntary movement from Alicia, and he would end up trapped forever in her body. He determined it wouldn't be a bad way to go, but the hope of having her seeing him, or at least to see her wonderful face again kept tempting him.
