The drop was at least 200 feet give or take relative to you. And in not wanting to become a stain on Evelyn's purse, you begin your slow descent back the way you came. The smooth suede of the couch is slippery under your fingertips and before long, the worst happens. You accidentally missed a foothold climbing down and to your surprise, the sudden weight shift caused you to fall off balance. Unable to keep hold of the couch material, you plummet to the ground.
The drop knocks the wind out of you as your back hits the sloped inner wall of the purse. Tumbling deeper and deeper into the darkness, you eventually come to rest in between a giant bottle of hand cream and some tissues. Your mind feels fuzzy and your vision blurs as you try to stand. Pain slowly creeps from the back of your head as the adrenaline starts to fade. Despite your best efforts, you black out, lost deep inside Evelyn's purse...
When you wake up, everything is different, sunlight drifts in from above, illuminating your surroundings. Not only has everything shifted around but the constant thumping of motion means you're on the move. Climbing some lipstick and Evelyn's car keys, you peep your head out from the top of the purse. You can see a massive concrete building with armed security posted at every corner. Evelyn scans her ID card at the entrance as two guards escort her inside. The familiar fluorescent lights shine harshly above you and the echoes of Evelyn's heels clacking down the tiled floor flood your ears with dread.
Eventually, you can see the lab, and more importantly, the shrink ray! You don't know how these people avoided the police, they could have shrunk them all as far as you knew. There was just one last obstacle blocking your path to salvation: a giant sensor gate made of bright red light and flanked by three guards. One female, one male, and at the center was a terrifying-looking woman wearing black military gear and a gun strapped to her waist. Her hair was as red as the gate behind her and her accent was unmistakably Russian.
"Morning Anya. I take it we're clear of feds?" Evelyn asks. Anya only stares back blankly.
"Step into the gate Eve..." Her tone is flat, almost accusatory. "We've had a breach of protocol yesterday. All but one of your team's test subjects is accounted for. 015 specifically, perhaps you know something about this?"
Evelyn slowly approaches the gate. "I assure you, Anya, they're all taken care of. In fact, I have a whole slew of new volunteers ready for this evening!" Evelyn chuckles nervously but her amusement is unmatched by any of the guards.
You start to feel that same sense of overwhelming dread as your captor gets closer and closer to the laser gate. Could that thing really sense someone as tiny as you? Running out of time, you try and think what to do. You could always abandon ship here and find your own way past the guards, or you could risk the gate and hide in the bottom of the purse...
