That rat little dog isn't going to eat you today! Milo's attention is turned briefly to Dr. Wright's husband who just entered the front door. As awful as this woman was, for all you knew, her husband was just as cruel. Taking the few seconds of peace you were given, you quickly run for the blue couch behind you.
It seems you movement, although small, pulled Milo's attention almost immediately. Jaws snapping, the rat dog chases you down determined not to let his toy escape! You reach the dark underside of the couch only seconds before Milo's maw chomps at the entrance. Too short for the dog's snout to pass through, only its shiny, black nose makes it through. The twitching nose sniffs violently trying to suck you to its owner's maw but you're just far enough away to avoid the vacuum.
Catching your breath, you think about what to do next. Milo's frantic yelping and clawing is sure to draw attention to the couch at any moment, attention you'd rather avoid for now. Looking above, you notice a tear in the dark fabric leading to the inner frame of the couch, perhaps you could us it as a temporary base? The floor under the couch was covered in odd toys, old food that was too rotten to touch, and a worrisome amount of dead insects further back. Thinking carefully, you decide to...
