Ben looked at the slice of pie, if she was feeding Cole a slice a day, the cutting marks on the plate told him this was probably a week old. Yet it still looked moist, with a creamy and glossy top and... what was that smell? It was odd. He couldn't quite figure out what it reminded him of. His stomach clamored for him to think about it later. He looked to the side, at the depressing, overcooked toasts he had as an alternative. Those were the last slices of bread, too. On top of that she was being the bigger person here, offering this as a sign of truce. He saw what she could cook, accepting this would probably lead to many and tastier meals. His stomach grumbled again and that was the end of the pondering. He smirked at her, as if he had won some symbolical battle with her.

"Alright, this should do for breakfast. As i said you should make my job easier, i expect to have lunch by two when i get back, and Dinner by seven. And let’s just keep this routine so I can work swiftly."

He had to make sure she knew this wasn't a favor, he had nothing to thank her for. This was her place: servicing him. Amana looked at him with a blank stare for a couple seconds, as if waiting to see if he had something else to say, then extended the pie to him in a robotic motion. When she did, and the meal was under his nose, the smell became stronger; he felt it climbing rapidly till it sparked something in his brain. His eye twitched.

"Anything else before I leave to do my job?" Asked Amana Monotonously.

“THIS is your job." He jabbed. But Amana didn't seem to react much. He had to hide his disappointment "No, no. Go on to your duties. Remember to leave all of Dr. Cole's files in my office."

"Of course. Enjoy your meal."

And so he did. he sat down and started taking apart the odd smelling pie and eating it. The longer he smelled it the less sure he was what to think of it. He trusted its appearance, though, and used the fork to bring some into his mouth. Tasty. He kept going, and as he did he barely cared about the smell, he hadn't eaten a home cooked meal in ages, this was the best he had eaten in a while. Before he knew it, it was gone. He dejectedly put it in the counter for Amana to clean after.

He finished getting prepared and went to town. He had to spend several minutes making that old car start, then he drove.
