Computer Virus Gotta Catch ‘em Small! chapter 4 by 2kfsk

Penny was seated at her desk, stroking the coat of her Sylveon and double-checking the firewalls around her school's internet network. It was tedious work, but far from the worst thing she could've imagined doing after all the trouble Team Star ended up causing.

"Don't worry, girl. I'll play with you in a second, just gotta patch up this... huh?"

A desktop notification. An email from an unregistered sender. "That's unusual..." Penny was about to talk more to her Sylveon, but it suddenly leapt out of her lap and decided to explore the dorm room a bit more elsewhere.

Typically Penny wasn't one to open emails from unknown senders, but her anti-virus software was killer. The worst that could happen is that her computer may need to do a reboot, then no harm or foul. So, with curiosity getting the better of her, she clicked the link.

Suddenly, the computer screen went white. "Whoa..." The reflection shone on Penny's glasses, and she put her fingers at the ready on the keyboard, in case she needed to do an impromptu counter-hack.

But she didn't have the chance to touch a single key before a bolt of lightning leapt from her computer screen, zapping the student and engulfing her in static electricity. Frozen in time, her expression hadn't even the chance to react.

Then...

She began to shrink.

Slowly, but surely, Penny dwindled down to size, four feet, three feet, two feet... Until finally, she reached the unenviable three inches tall.

Finally unfrozen, she gasped as she looked at her surroundings. 

"Oh no...! How did this happen!? I've got to find help."

Her rolling chair seat was quite high off the ground, but it may be the only means of escape Penny had. On the other hand, she may be able to reach her desktop and send out an SOS message that way.

What happens?
