And thus the sleepover was decided. Or rather, rerouted.
The moment the idea started taking form, Lillie got in touch with Mallow, and suddenly the whole thing was taking place at hers instead. Maybe it was the lack of privacy in Kukui's attic, or maybe it was just Mallow's domineering personality, but with a slight huff and a bag full of basics, Lillie and Lana were on the move again.
"Welcome in!" Mallow grinned at the door, arms spread wide. She wrapped them around Lillie for the obligatory hug, and of course Lana was trapped in the middle. The soft pressure of chest on chest, she could hear dual heartbeats, feel the gentle squidge of Mallow's in particular, and not breathe at all in a sweltering mess of teenage bodies.
And it was a good few moments before anyone noticed.
"...oh! Lana!" Her supposed best friend gasped, separating from Lillie and peeling the tiny tween from her chest. "I'd almost forgotten about you there!"
"Seems like you had...!" Lana gulped down air. Freezing, and twice as thick as usual, it was the elixir her lungs needed after being stuck in there.
"Well, maybe I did a little..." Mallow grinned awkwardly. "Any case, you're free again. Did... you wanna go back with Lillie, or...?2
"Honestly, I don't mind. Just try not to squish me again, okay?" Lana put her tiny hands up.
"Deal!" Mallow grinned, pulling Lana back into a gentle hug. Held against Mallow's chest, small enough to see every arm hair, every stitch of fabric in her overalls, and appreciate the swell of the girl's chest surrounding her.
"So uh," Lana distracted herself. "Who-o else is coming? Just us three?"
"Well, I floated some invites, to see who's interested. Apparently you getting shrunk was a big thing, so a lot of people are curious!" Mallow said.
"And why'd you tell everyone that...?" Lana sighed.
"Because it's interesting!" Mallow beamed. "Until we get you unshrunk, you'll be the talk of the town!"
Lana shrunk down between Mallow's arms. "I'm not sure how I feel about that..."
Sure, being 'the talk of the town' was good business for her Trial Captaincy, if nothing else. But who knew how far this news was going to spread? The other islands? Other regions? The whole planet?!
...that last one was probably unlikely, Lana shrugged to herself. Even if it happened, she'd be fixed by the time anyone got here to see it in action.
...right?
"Anyway, I think it's about time we got started, hmm?" Mallow beamed. "We got scary movies, romantic movies, funny movies, and cooking by yours truly! Plus sleepover games, of course!"
"Sleepover games?" Lana lifted an eyebrow. Those rarely ended well in her past experience.
"Uh huh!" Mallow nodded. "Y'know, like truth or dare, charades, would you rather? Some of them might be tricky at your size, but we'll make it work!"
"Well..." Lana mused, not really wanting to know what horrors truth or dare could dredge up at this size.
