"It's this way!" Sonia shouted and rolled her eyes when her childhood friend Leon, the champion of Galar finally was able to spot her. Knowing Leon's legendary skills in pokemon battles were only matched by his atrocious sense of directions she had accounted beforehand for the lost time, and the slight annoyance quickly dissipated when watching Leon run enthusiastically to greet her, which brought back fond memories.

"Sonia! I've made it at last" Leon said with an apologetic smile scratching his head, earning another eye roll from his friend

"Sure you did, I don't know why I keep hoping you remember how to get here" Sonia sighed

"Did I take that long? I'm sorry. Anyway, how can I help you? you sounded mysterious when you called me" Leon said, intrigued and eager to help as it was usually Sonia taking charge of his requests, so it felt nice to have the chance to return the favor for once.

"Well, it's kinda a secret project, and I'm glad I can get help from the champion of Galar to test it out! Here, this is what it is about" Sonia said taking from her black purse.

"A Dynamax band?"

"Look closer"

"Hmm, you're right! It looks slightly different" Leon said after comparing it with the one he was wearing "What does it do?"

"You know about the upcoming energy shortage right?" Sonia asked and Leon nodded

"Right, we have talked about that" Leon said measuring his words, knowing that his friend disagreed with the methods of president Rose

"I don't know whatever he is planning but I have researched for alternative ways to produce energy and this is what I came up with, a variation of the dynamax band that would allow us to keep the energy to keep the region running" 

"Is that possible? that's amazing! But if you're not taking the energy from Dynamax, where are you taking it from?" Leon asked

"Dynamax is a source of energy in Galar, but there's energy all around us, even within us that doesn't depend on it. My belief is that if we can harness this kind of energy within a device like the Dynamax band we might be able to avoid the shortage for at least another thousand years, and if things go well we might even stop depending on it altogether"

"I think I get it..so you want me to test it then?" Leon asked and Sonia nodded with a serious expression on her face

"I would do it myself but I think it's better if someone with your experience can do it, and I hope I can keep working on it until it seems like a viable alternative for our main source of energy, at least in pokemon battles" Sonia stated

"And do you want to do it now?" Leon simply asked

"Huh? hey, it might be dangerous, you should think about it first" Sonia said, confused about Leon's quick reaction even if he agreed to work with her.

"Should I? You always help me with all kinds of stuff so I want to return the favor. And if your project works you will make things better for everyone in the city. I will be glad to help!" Leon exclaimed with his typical pose and Sonia just smiled, touched by his conviction and faith in her.

"Thank you, Leon" was all she could say

"No problem! So.. do you want to test it now or can it wait?" Leon asked again
