Try knowing more about the new bodies

"What are you talking about? Just go and search our bodies" Jen growled in a way that was very uncharacteristic of her. I could tell she was really frustrated for obvious reasons, but the way that voice sounded and the way it somehow intimidated me was enough to make me forget about arguing more and just do what she said.
We parted ways, searching for our old bodies in different directions of the mall. I took a look at Jen to try and remember that new body of hers, to be able to meet again with her if we managed to catch our old bodies out there. The body of a man called Ryan, according to the ID we found on his pocket. A 6'0'' man that I could tell was athletic in the past but really let himself go to the point he now looked overweight and flabby instead of imposing. The last thing I heard from Jen was a grunt as she stood up and started to walk the other way, apparently all that extra weight took a toll on his legs.
Now that I was alone, the pressure I felt from Jen's insistence was no longer there and I looked halfheartedly for 10 minutes, focusing instead of trying to understand what it felt to be both the opposite gender, and younger again. I was now Tara, according to what I found on the purse, and other than feeling I was a reasonably pretty and stylish girl there was not much I could know just from checking out my new body as I passed any reflective surface in the mall. I was dying to know, and also doing a great effort to supress the idea that I should celebrate how I got lucky, knowing how scary it must be for Jen.
There was no sign of them, our old bodies. I couldn't resist, questions started filling my mind. Shouldn't they be looking for us too? Did they get transported somewhere else? Did they even get swapped? What if our old bodies just disappeared along with them? Who got my body? How would they react? And who got Jen's? Who was the luckiest? I shook my head at that train of thought. Sure, this girl was pretty, and this body has bigger breasts and is taller than Jen's petite 5'0'' by a good 5 or so inches, but it doesn't have that awesome butt, or that gorgeous face that made me fall in love with her.
I sighed and went back to the place this all started, to meet up with "dad" again, while still trying to get used to feeling the wind in my abdomen, to an entirely unfamiliar sense of pain in my back, to the constant feel of hair brushing with my body past my shoulders and even to external things, a slight unescapable sensation of being watched, leered at a bit longer than I was used to.
While I waited for Jen I tried to get more info about this Tara girl. On that small purse she only carried mints, makeup and her mobile phone, nothing that highlighted particular interests, until I realized how dumb I was being and picking up the phone. As I stared at the screen unlocking itself with my new face and revealing a picture of Tara and a friend of hers smiling with a silly pose in some restaurant I understood it wasn't that I was dumb, I was feeling guilty. This was wrong. But it had to be done.
I went in cautiously, not knowing exactly what I was fearing, maybe the chance of my movements being mirrored by whoever was in control of my old body and life. College, nursing, highlighted outfits for an unpaid shopping cart, rants about living with her controlling parents and aching for freedom. Nothing particularly surprising, but nothing I should be seeing, was there any other choice?
Watching Jen coming back, still with that frustrated expression but also looking somehow dejected, brought me both relief and a strange sense of warning in me. It was easy to guess, she was unsuccessful too. Would this mean we would just have to get used to this?
What happens next?
