Zoe Politely Declines Winning Her Back chapter 5 by Hero_For_Hire

Zoe holds the tiny box in her hands and looks down on the tiny man within. Jack looks up at her in kind, his eyes wide, pleasing her to take him back.

For a moment, she considers it. She holds in her hand her deepest desire, her ultimate fantasy. All it takes is saying yes. But she can’t. 

“Jack…” she sighs. “I’m seeing someone…”

“What? Already?!”

“It’s been six months, Jack… it’s not official yet, but we’ve been seeing each other for a few weeks and… yeah, it’s going well.” She shrugs in an attempt to be nonchalant, but she can’t help but smile a little. 

“Uh-huh…” Jack said, feeling completely exposed and like a total idiot. “So, shrinking myself, gifting myself to you… this was all… pointless?”

Zoe and Lydia exchanged a look. Nothing was said, but they were in silent agreement; this guy is an idiot. 

“Well…” Lydia stood up. “As much as we’d all love to watch Jack here make an even bigger fool of himself, it does appear your mind is made up, Zoe, so we’d best get outta your hair.”

“Wait, just give me one more chance, Zoe, I promise I’ll—”

Lydia closed the lid on Jack’s box, rendering the rest of his pleadings muffled. Zoe walked her back to the front door, letting her leave with Jack in tow. Lydia turned before walking away, holding the box up to Zoe and giving it a light shake. 

“You sure? Tiny Jack going once, going twice…”

Zoe smirked and shook her head. “Take care of him, Lydia. He seems like he could do with a friend.” She closed the door.

Lydia figured it was best to leave Jack to sulk in his box while she walked him back to her place.
