Jack saw his short life pass in front of his eyes, closing them just before the black void fully enveloped him and his last thought was about surrendering his dreams of equality before such a display of power. Death felt like a numb experience even if he was, for those last moments, able to define how a massacre tasted and smelled like. And he felt himself, his soul rising up to a heaven that hopefully wouldn't be so unfair.
Until the shock passed.
"This always feels great" Jenna laughed rising her foot and hovering it around in search for more "tall" buildings to destroy, while her boyfriend just chuckled, letting her have her fun. It wasn't like AJ had more empathy for the Liliputians than her, he simply didn't care. For him it was just a silly kink his girlfriend had, so he knew by enabling her a bit she would get more excited for the actually interesting stuff later on.
Jack wondered why was he even still hearing the evil giantess, or the screams around him, or why he was still enveloped by the overwhelming stink of footsweat and rubble. Wasn't afterlife a solitary experience? Would he always have to carry with him this burden? No, he wouldn't. He opened his eyes and realized what was going on, he somehow survived and somehow got caught among the sock threads, like a lucky piece of lint. It should have been yet another demonstration of how insignificant he was and how stupid he was to dream with ending social injustice when there were races that could crush your civilization with so much ease but if anything Jack felt fired up now, filled with an intense desire to leave and to fulfill his dream.
"Okay, that's the last one" Jenna snickered at the remaining part of the outskirts of the city, with a building that was more modest compared to the skyscrapers she destroyed, barely distinguishable unless you were really looking. It made her wonder why those little bugs didn't just hide underground if they were supposedly so smart, as she started walking slowly, scanning to see if there was something else worth stomping.
Jack felt the downward motion, and for an instant as he saw the ground approaching rapidly he felt the same instinct to give in. But he managed to not close his eyes, and to dislodge himself from the threads to have his body pushed up and crashing with the surprisingly soft skin that genocided his city. The force was still more than enough to knock him unconscious, but luckily for him he did it just when the Brobdingnagianwas about to finish stepping on the ground almost with no pressure, as she was more focused on stomping that remaining building. The result was that Jack rolled miraculously unharmed on the ground, out of it while Jenna and AJ finished their fun, put their sneakers back on and started jogging back home.
What happens next?
